Today was a full day in school again after almost 2 weeks on end after proper school. needless to say, being out of habit, of waking early and travelling to school- i entered cherian's lecture late again. 8.55? not too bad, considering i only got to the lrt station at 8. so the journey to school today was much much shorter than the terrible 1 h 15 min at most. Maybe exams are drawing near and not many people need to go to school for early morning lectures already.
if what cherian said was true- that exam review at the beginning of the lecture was used as mere 'bait' to get us to come to tell us the more important thing at the end- that personality and portfolio are the more important things you have to groom on your own if youre looking at journalism sector. Then i guess i didn't miss anything really important? :/
He just went through a few past year questions to give us a feel of what they are looking for in answers and how we should answer questions. (i think they're just scared we verbal laosai on the paper- majority of us being from arts).
After that lecture, there was no 104 lecture, so me and kash sat at the cs benches and got down to our essay! oh but before that, we walked to canteen B to get a lil breakfast. i got soya bean 1/4 spilt along the way on the walk back and a corn pau. She got cheesebread and coffee.
Then it was essay-ing till about 12:30, where she got heavy into the essay mood and didn't want to tear herself away from the essay but i n the other hand, felt saturated and wanted to scream!
i went for t'and quartet performance held in school today. the up turn of people was 'truely heartwarming' quote the emcee and the LT 19 was packed! i was actually looking forward to a little music to calm my nerves.
On the way there, made a call to kelly, my 816 partner whom i've not met in the longest time since our final AB assignment was due on 20 Oct. i remember that mad rush towards that!
It was an hour long recital. they played a few sad pieces and the music theme from 'feet unbounded' (some title like that. how to be journalist with all my inaccuracies?), an upcoming film yet to be released.
i crashed kelly and her friend who was with her. but he brought 3 other friends whom she didnt know, and so was glad to have my familiar company ! :) i was glad for her.. help me reserve seat and not have to sit through a recital alone! and after the concert, the group of us went off for lunch. i got to eat at canteeen A again-- that japanese food. but the fish was not that satisfying. i prefer the sinful chicken katsu still! next time i go to canteen A, i'd definitely move on from the japanese store and try other things.
Well, today because of crashing kelly's group, i got to know a few people outside of CS! but.. engineering people. hurhur. well, they aren't bad really. it's just that.. you know, being in ntu where 70% are engineering people- it's good i finally make friends with some- or rather, get acquainted with some. (i like to stress this 'acquaintance phase' in what most people just jump straight into and call them friends.saves a lot of hanging dangling rubbish, where you don't know them at all, only talk once and you call them friend? that's unfair to your friends then! to share that same title with them.)
After lunch, we went separate ways. maybe to a certain extent kelly was glad to zoom off with me! because she was fairly new to the people i met today too. and she brought me to library 2, for the first time! being there made me feel a little like being in the 'secret annexe' the place where anne frank and family hid during the jewish persecution. (the group whose speech my group evaluated talked about that).
More essay-ing , finishing the last bits between 3 to abut 4:10. and my essay was done! left with reference list to do.
Went for vivian's lecture at 4:30.. but spent the front part of it sprucing and pruning my essay and getting the reference page done. then she went on to talk about mass communication aspects and then exam tips. last lecture from her. i will miss cs 101. i do like it! it's a little like psychology i feeel..
and when you like something, you want to do well for it and grab hold of all the knowledge it has to offer! bleah. i haven't started revision yet. one week exactly to my exams.
After lecture, i went to get my essay printed with weishan my other group member (and hand it in), who had a mini entourage with her. had a few good laughs in their company! and i went up to level 5 to get my AB lab i did in the wee hours of saturday morning, i was glad i got a 3.25!! single attempt some more! this is my second highest score for Ab labs. the highest,(which i found out today) was 3.5! i did that one with cherie. i was so afraid we won't do well and i'd pull down her grade for sucha irrelevant slackish i was. Thank God none of that happened! BUT.. i wonder. what if cherie normally gets 3.75 or something? well, at least it was not 3.25 or worse- 2. sth. I was worried for this piece i did with her cos we squeezed everything together (cos of my verbal diarrhea again) into 2 pages-the requirement. But brendan's quite a merciful marker actually ! Thank God!
So i felt happy when it was towards the end of the day and time to go home. met faiz and koon yen at the bus stop again (they were in weishan's gang) and decided to be friendly and not pretend i never see. since, i was in a happy mood, it was at the end of the day, all these factors made it good reason to be friendly. but faiz was with his gf so i just talked to koon, whome i rmbr better as kaya toast cos weishan calls him that. and weishan is just one funny girl! she's amazing! and really interesting! the bus came and we continued to think up of topics to chat about all the way to boonlay interchange.
things like number one- where you live. how long you get to school. then all other bitchings can follow. after that is what school you were from..hmm etc.standard chat up format i realised. i mean.. that's what i do..
after i had enough good chat with people and walked towards 180 bus home.. i ran after the bus and met raihana on the bus and had more talking company with people! she was on her way to bukit panjang to meet a friend for pasar malam but stays in pasir ris! but lives in hall too. She's really cool! (for lack of a better word) she! ask me my name when our cs 102 course is more or less over. shes my tutorial mate. maybe she's like pam oei that kinda girl. chilli padi is what i'd call her small in size but big on antics and dares.
Then i finally reached home.
so glad my essay is handed in already! one day early! (whoa! i know!) but im still not going to penang tomorrow. (my parents offered if i wanan go penanag with them 9-11 nov several weeks back. and i sad tt was possible if i could finish my essay in time. which turned out i really did! wheeheee! no penang, but at least no need to travel to school to hand it in tomorrow.Sucha load off! im free again! till i must settle down and focus on exams next. just two more weeks dear girl! and its the holidays for you. one sem down at CS.

Full day for me in every sense of the word. and im really happy, people kept popping up and i got to chat with people and know them! i really thank the Lord for company. from kash to kelly and extra friends to weishan's gang to raihana.
The song i though about was 'Thank you Lord'.. 'and most of all, i want to thank you Lord,/ for the people here today. /they have been a blessing in my life, /they have given me gladness in times of sadness/thank You Lord.'
