and so everyone goes Happy national day! the whole of today. it is no doubt and denying that singaporeans definitely do feel a sense of belonging and pride in our homeland singapore!
so even though the day is over, the warm celebrations and positive feelings towards singapore take a little while longer to dissipate after all the fun. and talk about fun! did u watch the parade this year? wel cos. i didnt. i slept through it during my nap. but i know there's always sucha thing as repeat.
well, this morning, we went to thompson area..to have dimsum breakfast with a few families from church. and then the rest of the day was bad. me n mum stuck at home while dad n sis went off to have their own fun. but my mum also kinda had her fun today cos she went for her stretch fit class at amore. so end of the day, its me the loser who didnt find anything good for myself.
and then i decided to strum on the guitar again. since i found 'then sings my soul' and all the songs and chords are there! and then although i still can't play properly, and my strumming is very heavy sounding, i remembered those times where i would strum into the earlier hours of the morning. and hope that i wouldn't get a call from school the next day.
or i strummed to relax and get my mind off things.through those special early months of march april may and a little of june.
and so i did it again. and what i really miss most, is fcm camp! yes. i miss the gathering together to sing songs. and you know what? fcm ntu/nie meets every wednesday night for meetings! but guess what? i have this thing called Ballet. and yea.it's my monster.
i would really love to go for some christian camp again. But its not so much the camp or how its run itself. cos looking back, it was a rather simple programme and things weren't super excting. but above it all, i get this warm feeling about the whole event whenever i reminicise. where your soul n spirit is really fed. maybe its just the whole beauty of spending five days with godly goodly people and above all, the presence of God's Holy spirit. beautiful magnificent feeling.
it leaves you satisfied, and quiet and peaceful. :) silence and quiet is what i'd advise to all to learn to appreciate. it's a priviledge and a blessing to be able to - Be still. and added bonus if it's with God's presence.
i remember all the hymns we sang.[yea lah. we sang from the hymnal for 5 days la] but hymns are just really special songs.
oh and a little more distant, i remember christmas carolling last year. where we sat down to sing christmas carols to the strumming of a good enough guitarist.
im never a fan of guitar music cos i always thot it'd sound too uptight and 'toing' 'toing' 'toing' u knwow hen u pluck the strings.
but just for memories sake. i'd most probably put in the windsongs guitar cd and listen to it tonight.
and above all, memories are really sweet things. and im still not eloquent enough to express how i really feel. but when u think back to memories, you just get specific feelings for different events and yet the feeling is so specialised that you can't just put it down in mere words.
my mere citings of what happened, is a far cry from what i really feel in my heart about all these beautiful stuff.
