im not gonna try out for any argument here, cos i think thats too mammoth a task for me. oh ya..and as a sideline, thanks to my mom, who navigated away from what i typed previously its all gone. sheeesh. maybe i should start by saying parents should never have learnt how to use the internet! ok anyway, so much for digressing even before i start. the topic in question-- embryonic stem cell research. i stare back at that and i dont know how to address this.we're currently reading into this for gp. so all external gp knowlege aside, cos i dont have any. i'll do my personal take on it.
and i bet my views are gonna risk being blasted at. if anything tt they may seem super stubborn or one way track, sorry! forgive me for my thought limitations.i havent the skill to think widely yet.

hmm without further ado, i shall start blabbering.

readers note:you must know my knowledge on such stuff is very shallow

for one, i'd like to say i welcomed the idea of being able to harvest a new organ and create one so as to save someone's life. that's a very noble thing to do. however, i was never in favour of cloning through and thru (not many are). i only supported cloning organ parts etc.

that was until i found out that it involoved ethical and moral issues of--is it even right to destroy/dissect a human embryo.we're looking at e embryonic method.

seriously, to make it really simple, my take can be simply, that once an egg and sperm fuses, a zygote is formed and thus, the empirical form of life. so life is life and should be treasured. so obviously a big No No to embryonic stem cell.

God gives life. and life is formed upon conception.

however, scientists see it that, a mere zygote doesnt even resemble any human being although it posseses the potential to become one. i mean, there isn't even a heart beat yet. it's just a blob of cells and reddy tissue and a mess of bloody substance. i agree.

that's sth i would accept. but thinking about those couples trying hard to have a baby. i bet everytime they turn off the lights and hop into bed w e image of baby, they hope and pray tt his squirmy sperm would finally find some way and find her egg, and stop swimming around in circles or dying halfway so tt their wish can come true. so how can u regard conception as just a mass of blob cells [although it literally is] i mean, i think the couple would proobably call it victory and celebrate once they know his silly sperm finally managed and overcame all obstacles to finally form an embryo. with tt knowledge tt overjoyed couple would've started painting the baby's room already or sth. even though there's no heart beat yet. but e knowlege is there--tt blob is gonna become a child one day given the chance to grow well the whole gestation period.

so you see, two different scenarios. as man makes it out to be. so very promising w so much potential. maybe, both serve its purpose after all. one can become a kid, the other, some beating heart or kidney or liver.

saying that God is the giver of life-- he chooses who he wants to parent who. he has a purpose plan for everyone. even before the formation of a kid growing cell. (Psalm 139)

but for embryonic stem cell, the sperm and egg is fused outside the body. making it harder to think through. i mean, we cant call this process natural anymore. it was manufactured. since we all know by science tt u put a sperm and egg together, it'll fuse and become an embryo. it becomes an experiment instead, and the zygote, the mere result/chemical reaction.where's the question about the sanctity of life?

so now we're talking pure science. hmm..which i just sit back and admire. fusing egg and sperm together is not like some new experiment there for us to play with.its not to be taken lightly. unlike chemical analysis, testing for cations and anions, enjoying the colour transformations. in a way,can i say we're playing God? to attempt to reach up to His level?(tower of babel) to allow oursevles to determine such grave matters. or can i see this as yet another sign of our ever searching spirit for God,which he has put in us,to search and question for the existence of a higher being,tt we may reconnect w Him? because we will finally realise we're not tt great after all.

i think when God sits back and looks at us ,his creation, he must be thinking how smart we've become. all because adam and eve took just ONE bite from the fruit of knowledge. we sure are making fast progress in becoming like God,knowing many things.man is so capable of all tt knowledge --electricity/gravity/plate tectonics/lightbulb/ceneral circulation model.basically all things i can't fanthom.great men invented and thought up these theories!

personally, i think God allowed for us to come to such knowledge, for the betterment of mankind and standards of living. all that advancement in science which has helped us so much (think aircon) i believe was indirectly from God or maybe allowed by him.cos after all, he put us here to enjoy him and whatever he has to offer here.

but there's also that thought in me that perhaps..filled with so much sin and evil in the world, he has given us up to our own evil ways..hence such bizarre science experiments? so we're just wallowing in all our acheivements and human knowledge and feeling so proud about it,forgetting God and cutting him out. and we think we're so smart. sigh. how foolish.

i believe that science is there to help us and make life better.although in recent decades we are making it so perverse.wanting more and more to play God . filled with so much greed, no amount of science advancements can make us contented or satisfied. when organ transplant was first discovered, we were ever so grateful to it. now tt its more established, we have taken for granted and are ready to say someone is selfish if they dont wanna donate theirs away in the event of being deceased.so what makes us think tt this embryo life saving thing will make us rejoice forever more ..hm?hm?

with so much on my mind, i cant help but think, is all this science saga here to perhaps draw us closer to God to reveal tt there's only so much we can do and humans are inadequate and bring us to acknowledge his higher existence and simply cast our cares upon him? or does it inversely draw us further away with all the distractions; away from God's loving nature; such as these?

then let us look at the poor suffering child you're trying to save --the whole reason why we may support embryonic research. with evidence of this, i cant say you dont love your children after all.you love the child being but u cant love tt empirical zygote child.

God is powerful. He has the ability to heal and deliver. playing God and bringing in these methods, aren't we kinda denying Him the chance to show His glory and his works to us, that may increase our faith and trust in him?

seriously, i also think that if God really wants your suffering kid to live, even if he's at the last stage, super critical, God can still save him and bring him out of his suffering. on the flipside of the coin, if God really wants your kid to die, even if you do all embryo whatever, the kids life is still in God's hands. if it's God's will tt he shouldn't live,he won't.

God has His own timing and knows what he's doing. can't we just put our trust in Him? thus, i conclude that medical science and technology has been there to prolong life and heal us bodily. However, there's gotta be a limit to it. if saving one kid means the death or negligent usage of sperm+egg, i guess that's taking it too far already.

i was thinking, as painful as it'll be to lose a child, we don't know what greater plans God has in store for us, for the big picture. the death of a child is but one (major) episode in our lives. major, yes.painful, yes. but only one. Why not allow that zygote which couldve saved tt sick child be conceived naturally as another child. to bring another episode of joy and all things nice a kid can bring. God wants to teach us lessons through everything, good and bad. if there are lessons, precious lessons from the Lord to be learnt, why not learn them, and at the same time, receive His comforts for your grieves also? The
Lord single handedly can offer us everything we will ever need. He is all we need, the answer to all our questions.in God, we are comforted and safe.
