just a lil sharing.
there are people who live life with the belief that, as long as i make my life worth while and do the things that please people and me, i'll be happy and when i die. i die. and conclusion :i lived my life well and made the most of it.
frankly, it's really quite a nice idea. you live for yourself and those around you, people u treasure and you enjoy life for what it is!because there's so much to offer. if i didnt know God and Christ, i would have gone by this theory. really!
but since i do know Jesus Christ now,its a different story now!
Revelation 21
1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.i randomly flipped through this mag lying on the coffeetable and there was this article in it about heaven. although we dont know what much of heaven will be like till we get there, God reveals through His word in revelation, the visions which God gave to john who recorded them down.
anyway, verse four stood out. God shall wipe away every tear,no more sorrow ,crying.no more sadness and toiling and hardwork and all things lousy. we shall be made new.
it's so comforting. we are not here just to be here. there's more to life after this existence of ours. i mean, if we were to be here on earth to just breathe in all the extra oxygen, and have fun, where will the deeper meaning of things lie, after all the 'hip happening fun and funky' things are gone. all will be left, more often than not, will be a dull ache and an empty hole within. a big mess to clean up (think:after a huge party) and perhaps sorrow which overwhelms twice over the temporal high we had earlier.
on this topic, the song lyrcis by..stacie orrico? whoever..'there's gotta be more to life...than just about every temporary high..' is so true. many are jaded out there, about their whole existence. stuck wit A levels and much more crap.
through all that mess, i can only find the answer in Christ, 'the real joy giver and the apple of my eye'. i guess there's a difference between joy, from the Lord and mere happiness. joy takes on a deeper level. a sense of peace and just ..the only way to put this down would be --smiling in your heart. really. its all an internal feeling, not so much heeheehaha.its satisfying and you feel filled, spiritually.
the short passage in the article just reminded me of how there's a better place far beyond the sky, and the prize and goal towards what we are striving for. i mean, its not everyday, that one thinks about heaven. so it was nice to bring to memory once again, what's in store for us after we're done with this life here. the song lyrcis from 'because he lives' a part of the song goes..'and then as death..gives way to victory' the word
victory used. the battle won.marvelous, amazing! (yea i know i said i'll look up more words, but havent ok).like on the deathbed, you cant wait to close your eyes and end up in a better place. the peace of leaving with the assurance of eternity in heaven. :) sth like'ok bye bye! then shut eyes'
or you can imagine..the latest ribena advert, where the boy drinks ribena and slides off into the ribena world. yea maybe sth like that. anyway it goes, it'll be wonderful! we'll no longer be in this cursed earth, free from the curse which God put upon adam and eve after e fall.examples:(from the mag) the old world, the heat of the sun, satan's ruling, presence of sin, people running from God, tears grief n pain.
so while that's a great incentive to carry on with life, towards the 'great reward', we shall continue with this earthly life, seeking God and building on our r/ship w him. :) to win souls for Christ and be a shining light for God!
another verse to remember : romans 10:9-10 ' that if you
confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and
believe in your heart that God hath raised Him from the dead ,
you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.
to all those preparing for mid terms mid years whatever, keep God close to your hearts and in your mind. and prayer works wonders, really. remember with God, any battle can be won! :)
