Genesis 8. haha. yup. the only chapter in the bible i ever looked up so closely before in my entire life! and for that, i thank uncle emmanuel for that chance, which i actually wasnt looking for, but since chanced upon me, i took it. whether my class understood what i rambled and mumbled on about, i hope they did. but anyway, on a personal level, it taught me much and i got much outta it. matthew henry commentry book. is really good!
thank God lesson went well for me today. He was guiding me. hmm maybe i didnt feel much of it. but indeed He was there. for me, 'lesson went well' basically means that, i delivered all the points revealed to me while preparing. :) but that's not a very good guage, cos its very selfish to gain yourself and not care much whether your fellow mates did. however, i trust that they did learn sth. i tend to underestimate people, simply because i put myself in their shoes along with my low mental intellectual capability. and since, only slightly more than half the things said in any class gets retained in my head, i assume that for the rest. but i know theyre better than me so that's good.
one thing i liked very much: vs 1:'and God remembered Noah' means he'll remember us too! and urm, that Noah remembered God in the end too! which is the task for us to do daily.
number two, although not in today's lesson, i like the promise and convenant made by God, signified through the rainbow. like everytime you see a rainbow in the sky, it's God remembering his promise to mankind! wonderfulwonderful :)
yea. so school's starting tomorrow. one thing nice: my exams are over and done with. to all those who's exams are this coming week, i'll keep you in prayer. however, back to school reminds me of incomplete homework. third term already. i was just beginning to realise no matter how boring or shitty hols may be/seem, the stress levels' much much lower.
and my resolution for this term, study everyday(tentative to change) during the week and start consulting teachers. that's gonna be the hardest by far. and study starts tomorrow that means, and im not ready. sigh.
but cant say that. swee, im relying on you to egg me on ok. its a large butt u gotta push. thanks
the june hols are over. so soon, too fast. and i realised, doesnt mean you didnt study anything means your hols has gone to waste. cos there's so many other things than academics alone, although that alone takes up 60-70% of our lives. we tend to focus too much on studies, esp this year, that its so easy to miss 'the finer things in life'
yea yea, for a person like me, i sure gotta be kidding when i say that my focus is too much on studies. yea, i dont study a lot. but, all the same, my mind is always on my studies. yes, amidst all the rubbish that i do, when im supposed to be studying. this includes watching desperate housewives, 7 oclock show, 9 oclock showm get real and other waste time shows here and there. walking around the house, and eating chocolates. all this while, the damn thot in my head is still study related. eg:'shit geog essay haven do' on most occasions, its just the run and re runs of what hw's to be done and handed in.
its funny, now that you know, tt despite the mental torment i go thru, i still dont do my work after all.so in other words, i just worry till the deadline arrives then die. a many times.
since today is a sunday, i might just add that instead of worrying, i should focus my mind on godly matters instead. i read somewhere that anyone who knows how to worry, knows already, how to meditate(on god's word) its just abt shifting focus.
ok enough of crapping. back to the recap of june hols.
let's just say, i sailed into the june holidays a blur. perhaps a week or two earlier. i switched off from school work halfway thru wk 9 of term 2, hence, u can in a wae say, tt june hols started a lil earlier for me. mum and dad, went awae to hong kong, so me n sis went over the granny's house. since i was put in 'unfamiliar' places, i just threw the schoolbag out as i moved in. the stay which was meant to be over the weekend, dragged into the next week. the final week of school, attention was averted to jazz, and more jazz. then granny's pastor came over to dinner so tt was a 'HEEHEE' affair, and on the last friday of the term, my class went to watch starwars w AK. then school was out!
the first saturday of june hols, was spent trying to teach ballet. it was a great experience which left me thinking about it the rest of the hols. the monday and tues which followed was spent at jazz class again, and trying to study a lil bit of paper 4 lit exam.we went back to granny's house to stay on sunday. it was nice to note that on wed night, the night b4 camp, koko drove us to imm to get lil tid bits and snacks for the camp, and dessert at secret recipe. pity it was closed, so we had the cake take away instead. and took a neo print w granny and koko for memory's sake. on thursday, 2 june, we packed off to sentosa for yf camp. it was an enjoyable two days. topic:who am i really? its amazing what you can do in just a short two days. we went down to the beach to play makeshift volleyball and had a bbq at night. the next day, we had a nature walk and then lydia called me halfway. it was nice to pick out God's creation in order ,from day and night, to skies and seas, to the animals, sea creatures and finally man. it made the experience so much more tangible by being amidst nature yourself! now, everytime we sing 'look at the world' at choir, i remember that nature walk. :)
game the second day down at the beach was fun and rough. guarding balloons and all. guys can get really wild when theyre so into winning. they turned a lil game involving delicate balloons into something like rugby!!??! hmm, actually, you give guys sth to run after, be it a ball or rubber ducky, anything, and they turn the game into rugby. we had a rocking time in the pool playing water polo on the last evening.
the reflections we had on the last night sitting around the candles had a heart warming feeling. you only get that in the company of yf. as i had to leave early saturday morning, i didnt have a proper close of the camp. and hence, havent done proper reflections of the camp. didnt take note of every impression, thot, feeling which came my way. and pity, even if i look thru e notes now, all of the thots i had then as i wrote them down, would have dissipated into a mere 'mist' by now. yea and you can say the word misty again. fog would be a good word too.
had dinner at aunty sindy's house that evening. went to visit popo. and watched the terminal on dvd.
sunday,5 june. the horrible feeling of the impending lit p4 test was eating me up. started to go sulky sulky. anywae, then monday came. and since dad took leave, we went on errands to town that day to get sis's camera fixed.the deal we got in the end, pay 138 and get a better model.had fish and co lunch after mum ended work. such anomalies matter so much to me, cause its not everyday where you get to sit down and eat lunch as a family. and amidst all tt, its really disgusting to have the lit paper4 at the back of ur head. finally did some study at night before deciding i'd heck it.
tuesday morning, the day of doom. it was a big relief to know that the exam was text based. hence, you can crap.it wasnt so bad in the end:) met mum n sis in the afternoon for lunch and then went off for ballet. helped w coaching lessons at ballet for the grade fours and fives and then jazz in the evening.it was a long long day! but what propelled me was that, the worst was over and that i would be off to tioman the next day! :P
the sun sea and sand. haha thats what i always say anyway. i mean what else. snorkeling was rewarding this year. we saw a super large fish and stingrays. and whole school of fish, pretty corals. i was happy to see nemo fish. and we even saw dolphins from afar! paya beach is so so much better than damai resort.
surprisingly, we had family devotion (yea, i was e culprit who travels w/o a bible) on the first night, and it lasted for about maybe 1 1/2 hr in the end! and the whole family each shared a lil sth about what was most stark in their lives now. and i shared tt, while i was feeling down and shitty e night b4 the damn lit, i thot i'd just read a few verses to comfort me, if it in the least helped. and amazingly(it's high time i go look up the thesaurus) deut 31:8 and isaiah 42:16 stood out. and the common thing about these two verses,it says tt God will not forsake us. and that was comforting really. i still felt shitty, but better. perhaps those 2 verses were God directed cos, when i flipped around the the highlighted verses i had, i didnt have the heart to read them properly. i called them my 'popular verses' in which its goes like blah blah, yadayada, and then dont give much thot to it. however, even in such spirits, God showed me specifically, tt these two of all the others stood out..so obviously there was a msg there to take note of. anywae, it was nice to know God was still around. many times we tend to take for granted the things we often say'god will take care of you, he's everywhere' and yet our faith in those words dwindle.but for God to show me specifically what he wanted to remind me, was marvelous! :)
second day we went fishing. the trip was yucky. i hate fishing. really. the boat was rocking from side to side. but well, we had a huge steam fish for dinner and 4 smaller fish cooked sweet-and-sour style. yummy. BUT i still hate fishing. i didnt participate. fell asleep on the boat floor and wet my pants thru to my panties and butt. sucha bummer.
made a return trip on saturday. ok im getting tired typing here.
had to help kidschurch the next day,12june. anyway,we went for sunset gospel in e evening.
yea and so like tt, 2 weeks of june hols down, two more to go.
the next week, was spent preparing for jazz exam on saturday,18/6 tried to study in the mornings, but that decreased with each passing day. but anyway, it was fun to just be at jazz dancing and stretching and doing conditioning.had dinner w granny n koko on tues n thu. they left on friday morning. as the week wore on , i felt grumpier and grumpier. moody and moodier. snappy and snapped. felt anti everything. i thot i was morphing into the incredible hulk or sth.went for ac dance concert on saturday evening. on sunday, after fathers' day dinner, i went home and there was blood on my undies. haha!..PMS.
and then the previous week was spent at the mid years in school. evil of the school to rob us of a week of hols just like that!khengling, george and joan came over on wednesday for dinner! aunty belinda and family dropped by on thursday night for nothing.met up w lydia on friday.saturday was term break from ballet, hence i went for yf.
and yes, the reminder..we're going back to school tomorrow. conclusion: looking back, its been a great june hols.despite the absence of study.
charlene said a lil' prayer for you at 4:20 PM
