Amazing Grace.
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me
i once was lost
but now am found
was blind,but now,i see
'twas grace that taught my heart to fear
and grace my fears relieved;
how precious did that grace appear
the hour i first believed
Through many dangers,toils and snares
i have already come
tis grace hath brought me safe thus far
and grace will lead me home
The Lord has promised good to me
his word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
as long as life endures
Yea when this flesh and heart shall fail
and mortal life shall cease
i shall posess,within the veil
a life of joy and peace
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
the sun forbear to shine
But God.who called me here below
shall be forever mine
When we've been there ten thousand years
bright shining as the sun
we've no less days to sing God's grace
than when we'd first begun.
2 corinthians 12:9 'And He said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee:for my strength is made perfect in weakenss..'
Blessed easter to one and all!
today's service in church was special cos it's easter day!sunrise service at 7! then there was baptismal service, choir presentations(somehow i always feel touched when i see the lil kids stand and sing with joy and so much innocence) and a super long message by Rev Daniel Khoo.
Thank God chris and i weren't grumpy at sunrise this year!! (i've been grumpy for the past 2 years) was praying about it actually. Thanks to God!
haha. his messages, as rarely as they come, are always about the church and her problems. and i find it so in line, by the hand of God,that he talked about how God is concerned about the condition of the church, then and now, esp after my previous post with a short rant of conflict in the church among brethren. another funny thing was, halfway thru, i was thinking about menthos fruit flavour..and a short few mins ,later, edith offered me THAT (she just flashed it in my face)! of course we're not supposed to eat during service but God answered my craving. haha!
'Be thou faithful until death'
with love and sacrifice, plus suffering for Christ.
we love Him, because He first loved us! loving others because Christ loves us. and hard as it will be, to take up the challenge and suffer for Christ, is a privilege! We are God's people, in life and death. remembering Christ suffered too on the cross, makes it easier for us .and with that fact, he too understands our sufferings and the trials we go through, because He's been there himself.
one point which struck me: Christ's suffering is our suffering if we really love Him. Not to only take into account my stupid feelings, but rather how and what God feels. Christ's suffering: sweat drops of blood. extremely agonising.
But we often dismiss it and read over, not pondering over the harder facts of the truth. oh man! we do need a lot of God's mercies!
may we strive to be faithful servants of God, and surrender our all. [sounds so newsline bulletin :/]
1 Peter 3:14 'But if ye suffer for righteouness' sake, happy are ye:and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;'
vs 15: 'but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: ..'
sideline: i came across this verse.
1Peter 2:17
'Honour all men.Love the brotherhood.Fear God.Honour the King.'
suddenly, it struck me that this sounds so.. 1984/BNW.
maybe it's the word 'brotherhood' which triggered the thought.
charlene said a lil' prayer for you at 11:24 PM
