hahaha. im bored at granny's hse again. actually, haven't had much time to get bored the past 4 days or so. was busy with obligations and lessons to go for. i alway dreaded it, ok not so strong as dreaded, but i always wished at the back of my mind for some free time.
now, i've got it and dunno what to do with it. so much so ive started thinking to about a week back where i was on the way to dance practise.
actually, i wasnt to be this free today either. i wanted to go to the dentist. the one by school health service. yes. the lousy one, you know, its free. you cant expect much. the queen in me thot u coud just walk in and be attended to. but the fact that such things, since it was a service ;offered free, you would have to wait for it, and its managed by old aunties.
then i surfed the net for the number and made a call. and the stupid line was busy for the longest time. their so inefficient. finally after breakfast, i called and finally, an auntie picked up. then she told me to go for the slot on 16 dec. but i said i'll be away. i forgot i was supposed to act professional so i went ' er..later can? ' hai. but nevermind la. i think i was on the same level as her so good la. made understanding easier. then she told me 20 dec. so i said ok. hai. which leaves me free today (which is why i am even bored in the first place. )
hai. there's always this thing about polyclinic personels, and school health service staff being the old grumpy almost gonna retire kinda people. they speak really slowly, cant hear much and repeat and repeat what you say. due to the rise in technology in recent years, they are forced to learn to work with the computer to key in data. and in that area, they take a super long time. i spent almost 30 sec telling the auntie how to spell my name which goes C ( you mean C for charlie ah?) h-a-r- (space arh? me:nono.) l-e-n-e "space" t-a-n "do u also want my chinese name? (ahh yes yes) s-u 'space' e-n. (orhh! su en arh?) she sounded as if she semi prided herself in pronouncing my lovely chinese name in the correct tone. then she asked for BC no.
so my appointment has been fixed. its like 3 weeks later!!! i was actually toying with the idea of having nice white teeth for the coming church camp (no apparent reason) .
just finished lunch. i thot just now that at least i could blog for an hour or so here to kill time, but it looks like i'll have more time to kill. its almost 2 now. and aircon makes the passing of time more comfy. those lucky people in temperate regions. can waste time away in comfort, yet NOT have to pay bills for the cool air.
rice and fish and stringy mushroom wa for lunch. :) -burp- looks like my 'cut down on eating plan' wil be on leave today.
ok back to the dental thing. oh yes, and i have dance in the morning on the 20th of dec. hey 20th dec is jocelyn's birthday! so i get to miss it!! yay yay. and for genuine reason this time. dental appointment. now i know what's it like. i always envied those people who miss school or cca due to dental appt. i always thot tt was too far off for me cos well i hardly visited the dentist. and most times, people with appts are those w braces to get the bands changed. ok on second thots, the dance people may think what the hell im talking cos i do not have braces screwed onto my teeth.
earlier this week, on monday n tuesday, i was feeling rather gloomy. had no reason to smile and was missing school. the laughter in the canteen and all that rubbish. half my clique's away in perth now. hmm actualli not half. its only a handful. michelle, elaine, and apple/keng ee. haha i just like to do this apple/keng ee thing. hmm actually the rest are still around. but i guess everyone's too lazy to officially call for another og4 outing. esp when there's loads of presents owed to people. you dont really wanna see them.
wednesday took a change. went for ballet and ms ong was there. we had proper class and were feeling happy about it. at least we were working our wads of fat. then i was standing behind jac at the barre. and after every exercise she kept turning back to smile at me. at first, i thot. hahaha. why she so happy. in the end, there was this other reason. -grins- just kidding!
then we sat down and talked in mac's and finally left when jac finalised her plans for that evening. and it was good cos i had company on the train. she dropped at cityhall and we talked and laughed on the way down. always love it when there's accompany on my long train rides. and my ballet peeps never have to fear about taking long mrt rides to town from tampines alone cos im there :) the whole thing just got my spirits up once more. i was close to thinking i'd never smile or laugh so hard ever again. and was waiting for church camp to make me silly crazy.
then jac asked me if i always saw a lot of funny people on my long rides up. well i said not really. but i guess there are. i should keep more look out for them. they entertain me and there are loads of funny people around. miss train rides w amanda too.
on tues, feeling bored and not wanting to buy any snack, i simply bought a mag. i was looking for the least trashy and one under 4. then i saw women's weekly going for $3.20 and i bought it. hai.it was a middle aged women kinda mag. so i was quite embarassed to read it on the train. and articles were like how to clean your baby's butt. and irrelevant stuff. sighs.mistakes
hmm, just on wed, on the way up, there was this threesome. an indian boy and two girls. that guy reminds me a lil of uncle edward. (ahh havent been to seletar in a long time now) mebe its just his hair. and two giggly chinese girls. they were talking senseless things. i guess they're either sec one or two. first, it was about pregnant people. there was this preggy lady sitting opposite us facing our row. then they saw her so they started on that topic. what tickled me most was urm. they were talking sth about 'conceived' and the guy just kept repeating happily and surely that he had the right definition. he said 'conceived is when the baby is born' 'conceived is when you give birth' hahaha. in my head i was going hahaha. and i listened a lil harder. next, up they were discussing how to spell conceived. and the girl confidently spelled it was c-o-n-c-I-v-e-d. ok. i pardon that. cos, cive, does sound the same as ceive, but they were happy about it and certain they got it right. after that, a guy walked in. a boy actually. but i was staring at the floor so first i saw was white shoes and hairy legs. i thot it was a lower sec boy. turned out, on his shirt read, 'east coast primary school' and yep tt dae i remembered was psle results day. looking up, he had a pai kia face and golden streaks in his hair. he was trying to look cool and undaunted, but pls la. in east coast park primary uniform?!(oops i mean east coast primary) nth you do will make you look cool in that! and the threesome started talking openly about how the indian boy's legs werent so hairy cos there was a mr act -cool- with bushy- legs in front of them.
and when i was gonna meet mum yesterday, i took the train down to cityhall. at jurong east, came a pair of brothers. they were going to expo. the elder bro was trying to mock his bro and try make his bro look stupid. first silly thing he said to his bro : 'i cant imagine you reading papers' the younger bro couldnt be bothered with him. it was a wise thing to do. he was making comments for the sake of making them. worse, he was degrading himself and showing all the other passengers, or rather the kpo me just how simply irritating he is. he was trying to act smart in front of his bro. ok then they were browsing thru the papers (each had one section) and again, he demonstrated his stupidity for all to see he said sth like..hmm..this is a good joystick or sth. ok mebe not joy stick but joy sth. guess joy box. and i was thinking hahahha. like duh! its written in the ad! oh yes, and on the topic of ads, he had fallen to be a stupid prey for ads.everything's good in ads aren they.
just like how i was telling jac about the car sharing advert offered by ntuc income. of how silly it is to have a car nice and big but have a sticker reading 'carcoop' at the back. then i told her yea, but the people look happy. see, they're standing outside the car looking happy, like they cant wait to get in. and she said, haha char! its an ad. then i go ya i know i know. lol
another thing the stupid big bro said when the train was leaving jurong east station, (it was clear he wanted to mock his bro for 'getting them into the wrong train' ) he said, for no reason " hey this train lookes like going in boon lay direction." by then, out the window, were clementi flats and more clementi buildings. clearly the train wasnt going in boon lay direction you twit!
ok after the train stopped at clementi to prove him wrong, he shut up and continued reading the paper quietly with his bro for the rest of the trip.
then , he got bored halfway and started counting the number of stations left to tanah merah. after that, he reminded his kid bro , "eh, dont forget to alight at tanah merah. we have to get to expo' hmmpf. i was thinking...since you're so impatient to get off and carefully counting the stops, will you actually miss the stop and have your younger bro drag you out of the train at tanah merah cos you FORGOT to alight? you'll prolly be so excited you'll run out the moment the door opens.
oh, unless he was taking precautions in case he got too engrossed in the ad featuring a very good joy(sth).
after that, they quietly read their papers all through the ride. apart from a few sighs from the bigbro, and hanging on the mrt grabholes trying to look cool and sighing some more. his bro obviously couldnt be bothered with him.
oh but then then bigbro looked like he was sec two.
my conclusion. lower sec kids still have a long way to go in growing up and becoming more sensible. or rather, all they have to do is just shut up and dont voice they're uneeded opinions.
ok maybe not all. i just saw two examples that day. but since its the hols and there's more ballet lessons to come, and more wannabe lower sec kids too excited to go out cos its the hols(!!) i'll see more of em on the mrt and be able to draw a more qualified conclusion.
and it wont be overated. cos someone once said this about reality tv "if i want reality tv in its originality, i might as well put a camera in the mrt train, after all, that's real people"
hmm ya. ok i guess im gonna be back to boredom again. shall make a trip down to west mall to do a lil window shopping and mebe run a few errands for granny. i need new panties.
i dont count myself a very respected mrt commuter either. i always eat on the train, then the msg will play"attn pls, no eating, (short pause) or drinking is allowed in the stations and trains. thank you for helping to keep our stations and trains clean for the comfort of all passengers" after tt, all the other pasengers will look in my direction. then i'll just give this stoned face.
i like to think that when i eat on the train, its cos im a busy woman and hard up for time, that i have to grab quick bites on the train. :) haha!
sometimes, when i enter the train, i notice some people just giving you the eye, up and down, looking at what you wear, and what kinda footwear you wear and whether you bite your toenails. then i'll sense it and give the look up and down too( to make them feel bad abt themselves and insecure !). but its sucha pollution to my eye sight. why do people like looking people up and down to see what they wear? most of singapore has a fashion problem! including me. i admit im really not a nice thing to look at really. my dressing sucks then you look at my face you wanna puke. once you scale down, you're like..where did this lump come from? all people regret giving me the look down. why bother?
i was sitting along orchard road once with lydia and hui teng watching many people pass by (duh! orchard road) and i noticed a lot of them are just trying to be what the magazines publish. but they do it wrong and the total look is just incongruent. i see lotsa vondutch around and short skirts with thunder thighs under. and funny shoes. its horrible really. sometimes i see really skinny people and wanna shoot them down. and other times, i see fat fat peole and some not so fat and then i get scared, cos i am just one of those fat people around too.
look, in short, we're all getting disgusted about each other. i see you're fat, and fat. then you look at me and you go. look at that girl! gawsh. eurgh. then we make ourselves all miserable just looking at each other.
you look at a fattie and go thank God im not like that! then someone else looks at you and goes ah! thank heavens im not like her.
haha. but hey! i think this game is quite fun!
o yea. most likely im going to westmall later to see more fatties and display my fat self!
charlene said a lil' prayer for you at 1:48 PM
