1 Chronicles 16:8 "Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. "
1 Chronicles 16:34 "O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. "
:):)
indeed the Lord has been merciful and gracious to me. i remember the struggle through the promos and He carried me thru safely, and now the results are out.
by His grace, i managed to promote! All by His grace and mercies, really.ThANks to God.the Lord blesses in abundance and really gives more than ever. :)
i just hope through this i wont become so airheaded and forgot in future. i want to always remember His goodness and grace.
well, todae's the last day of school for the term. tomorrow's left for pw and its an unofficial school day. but the real holiday only starts the week after chinese ao. that's like urm..13 nov or something. after that, then im done with all the extra lessons.
feeling ultra sleepy now and just got back not too long ago from popo's birthday dinner.its really been a long time since i sat down with my whole family from my mum's side. mainly, popo, uncle alfred, auntie susan, uncle sam, auntie sindy, my cousins, elin jie, lester kor and jasmine.
it's always heart warming to sit around a dinner table (given typical chinese culture) looking across and all around you at familiar faces of your kin. it's like. although we've not met for so long, especially uncle alfred and auntie susan and elin jie, its like theres still this warmth. when it comes to expressing myself im really weak in that area so it wont make much of an impact. like seeing them, you know you go back a long long way back..all those times in younger days with all the running around and wild police-and-thief games at lester's house. also with water guns and what not. although trhu our busy everyday lives now, we forget where we grew up from, its like, seeing them again, those memories just come back. and just that the faces you see around the table have aged, for the adults and matured for the kids. jasmine's looking more like auntie sindy and well not much change for elin and lester since they've already been 'grown' for some years now. just that maybe lester lost weight and elin..i dunno. more radiant?! hmm..
anyway, all in all, it was nice. and popo was smiling so happily although looking so skinny. she's 78 this year. but one thing worries me, the fact that shes quite often in and out of hospital due to her heart condition and the problems it brings along. you know, not to say anything 'bu ji li' but something freak may just happen one hospital trip and the next thing it may just be bye bye. ok saying this on her birthday really is not good la. but well, being practical, its all up to God when He decides to take her back. but she's still a catholic. i pray she converts soon. i hope uncle sam and familiy will one day by their good examples influence her to convert and believe and make a stronger stand in her faith. right now its sth like..'im supposed to do rosary so i just do..' hmm, so it wont be too hard for her to convert i guess :/
it was also nice to see how lester has grown in the faith. ok maybe he was already strong all along or something, but just that when i talked to him and he was sharing some stuff with me, really minimal but still significant, it just reflects and ya. its always nice to know God's wonderful workings in yet another person's life :)
God's slowly working on me changing me too i guess. haha. although im like super hard to change cos im just like a donkey. not stubborn but stupid.
as i reflected, i was more prayerful during the exam period, but after the exam period, these past two weeks, i've slided again. sigh this always happens and its as if i take God as this emergency life line. although he didnt forsake me as He promised but being a stupid human, just forget and forget. arhh. fish oil really NOT working.
i want to learn to constantly always involve God in everything, regardless. even down to the tiniest thing. 'But wholly lean on Jesus' name..on Christ the solid rock i stand, all other ground is sink-ing sand..' :)
right now, its ogl business. i dunno if i'll be able to pull thru and take the hardships. seriously, my main motive of wanting to do this whole thing is to give myself a chance, to do something significant and useful. i wanna be able to make a difference. like, be able to build up someone's impression of jj in the first three months. haha be a role model?!(ok excuse tt). after all 17 years ive wasted, i wanna learn to lead. ok maybe not everyone is made to be a leader. but i should at least try right? but just the bargain of it-- to miss a whole week of school. that's really a heavy loss. and the weariness im gonna suffer. tough. its gonna be.But i want sth memorable in jj. as they said, sth to make you cry, feel touched abt and well, experience the whole thing for yourself. when simon was telling us about how a successful ogl is one whom ur og remembers you for a long time. and shaiful and weilin popped up in my mind. they have been wonderful ogl's who did the most fantastic job. i also liked the whole idea that the people in my og have become my close frens in jj, just as what they told us. and i want to be able to make tt happen for someone else coming in to jj next year. but there's gonna be problems and challenges. like they wont bloddy listen and stuff, and yea i realised you cant force or control a person's actions..you can only try to push it and change it by motivating and urging. but i realised if i try and talk too much some people are just naturally more irritating than others and i may just drive them crazy. sigh. plus when youre super tired and drained but you still gotta be enthu infront of them. i wanna accept that challenge. problem is i die out too quickly.
oh well, God knows what's best for me. i'll just move along with all the meetings and see how it goes. if God thinks i'll learn sth good and it'll be a good experience for me, then He'll grant it no matter what :) in His hands.
tomorrow, op rehearsal in school. be in school by 10. ms tiong is pissed with our whole class. we are one screwed up class.
hmm, and ATOD is 9 and 10 nov. havent signed up but was planning to. theres ogl meeting on 9 nov. dang. see, there's always sth in the way!
on ending, for others' who cant seem to see the way through the light or are just plain upset with results, i've been there like practically my whole life, but there's a very nice verse to remember,
Romans8:28 'And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.' -->purpose driven life. live it! hahahah.God's plans, in His hands! not ours~
nighty!*
[edit] ms Baey's last day seeing our class officially was todae. we gave her a farewell gift, and well, took pics and gave her a hug. sigh. she's been one good teacher in the short 5 months she's been taking us for gp. taught us alot of thot provoking stuff, to see the world in a different light. and shes hip and cool, with her own unique style and dress sense. we will definitely miss her.
it was also paul chow's official last day with us. both him and ms baey will be leaving for innova. that school will surely gain. we gave paul chow a card and yea. sigh. although he always repeats what he says and repeats the same jokes about himself, he's still refreshingly funny and just a round, short ,balding fat man. hehe. i dont know why is it that teacher's always have to leave us. first it was pidduck, then now ms baey. latimer, and now chow. we're losing all our good teachers, although theyre trying to reassure us that we're in good hands. well, i dont doubt mrs razal or ms yap for lit next year, but all these changes..sigh...[/edit]
