-Heaves a heavy sigh of exhaustion-
The events went well for sports family day today.despite mr ivan kam and his rash planning, not consulting others much, im thankful that all things went well into place, as God was guiding us thru the day, with his merciful hand in safety. i believe, that no matter what, so long as you have God as your main focus, ALL things will fall into place. although many times, i would doubt and want to rely on my own strength due to insufficient FAITH. But it's really hard to really put all our trust into God sometimes, though we know we should. i guess its just human nature, that we just want to take things in our stride. not wanting help. and end up hurt and defeated, and THEN crying out to the LORD. one thing to really remember is that God never leaves us. people who are in dire distress or crisis often wail out blaming God why it happened to them and why didnt he protect. But they should really turn around and ask- " Was i even relying on God's strength in the past?" it's not that God doesn't wanna help us. it's we,so filled with pride that we shut God out and turn away from him in a short moment of glory which comes our way. man. presumptuous creatures.
Back to the events....
We all assembled at about 1030 and we had singspiration and a short message was delivered by Dn Barathan. then, we off to get the kids settled and organised for games. first, we played "the Human Knot" sadly, the girls group got soo tangled up, that we tried three times but still couldn't untangle ourselves, but the boys on the other team were so impatient to move on, because they already did the game three times, untagling themselves in a short time frame of less than a minute. those primary school tykes are amazing! then, next game was "wizard's tail" everyone went wild trying to get the "tail" form the wizard, and avoid being tapped into a frozen state by the wizard. everyone was running around madly. even the leaders. -smiles- And the final game was " poison ball" before we broke off for lunch. they were quite a handful to handle.it was f
ei4 jing4. kid's are just so full of energy!!
Lunch was scrumptious. i , as usual, ate everything. actually, more like a little of everything ,so i spread out the amount i help myself to on the food. first, had spaghetti, it was sooo nice! then beehoon..with a little curry for extra flavour. taxed a spoonful of nasi lemak from sis, then had choc cake for dessert. it was soo chocolatey! it was a birthday cake made by auntie jessie. she's a really good chef! she can whip up almost anything! on par with granny i think. was so gorged. played a little badminton with dad.
After lunch, i somehow ended myself in a soccer match, due to too much enthusiasm and pulled chris along with me. haha. ok. i was more like the "ah ma" figure in there, but at least i didn't cause my group any major liability (: and i did manage to come into contact with the ball. hahaz. kicked it outta the field only lah -pai seh- but that's the last resort when you don't want the other team to win right? after the game, rested abit in the shade sprawled out on the mat. my team came in second ! not bad. unfortunately, we weren't first cos we didn't manage to score on the free kick. so sad. tug of war was the last event of the day, with a significant number in participants. my group got second again!!at first we were sceptical about winning, cos our group consisted of alot of kids, and only me and sis as the considered "older " ones. over at the guys side, they weren't the muscular kind. cannot make it. but anyhow, we managed to steal a few promising "He-Man powers" from other groups to help us, so we managed and wasn't beaten so badly. HAHA. after the games, i was totally listless, got abit cranky. but soon got better after a little rest under thecanopy of trees.
Soon after, was prize giving. cheered abit here and there....then slowly, everyone dispersed, ranging from groups of three to six all with their families. and at the end of the day, not fogetting the KIDS were still running around. where do their bouts of energy come from?!?! -wonders-
Went to aunty sindy's house for dinner later in the night. just got back actually. so i'm gonna fall straight into bed after this. im forgeting about homework and revisions for today at least. shall face tomorrow to make repairs and get set on the right track again.
Family sports day to me, is not about who's the fittest, or who win's the most games. more importantly, it's about quality family time spent together. for everyone to get away from the usual hectic schedual, to just rest and relax, and take time off and enjoy each other's company. to communicate, and bridge up the gap which gets wider as time goes by without much communication. through this day, i've saw many different sides of certain people in church. i've seen heir "atheletic" side. i'm amazed that some of them are rather fit actually.
I thank God for this day that he has given to us. To spend time as a Family.
